Paper Dyeing for
Collage and Crafts by Gloria Foss and Susan Rogers-Aregger is unique in that it is
the only book to document Les dAlexandres great method of dyeing papers -
actually dipping them, as no one else has. This book is divided into three parts;
Part I explains how one can dye an assortment of tissue papers quickly and easily
at home with a minimum of dyes and materials.

When other artists and friends are
fascinated by your papers, the result could be a larger team effort when, on a typical
Paper Dyeing Day, hundreds of multi-colored, patterned papers will be produced. The stunning papers have been known to inspire
even those with no prior art experience to begin using them in imaginative ways. In the sprit of playful exploration, Part II
suggests ways to use the dyed papers in collages, crafts and home decoration.

Part III reprises
basic principles of art values, light and shade, color mixing, the effective use of
color, and design principles - that are set forth in Gloria Foss first book, How
to Paint: A Course in the Art of Oil Painting. 9 step-by-step projects are
included in this new book to help beginning and experienced artists alike explore ways to
use the hand-dyed papers. Refer to the Order link on the Home Page to pre-order a
copy of Gloria and Susans new book.
